Edinburgh Gin at Edinburgh Festivals 2017

Craft distillers share Edinburgh's gin history in their Fringe show and offer themed cocktails at their pop up bars

If you're a gin lover then you'll be happy about the number of gin-related shows at this year's Edinburgh Festival Fringe. From a cabaret about the Juniper spirit to masterclasses with Arbikie and a Pickering's Gin Jolly, there's plenty to see and drink in Edinburgh this August. One of the city's most popular craft gin distillers, Edinburgh Gin are demonstrating their commitment to the spirit with their show, The Art and Science of Gin, as well as running a number of pop up bars across the city.

Running from Tue 8–Sun 27 Aug (not 14 & 21), The Art and Science of Gin takes ticket holders on a journey of gin, looking at the city's illustrious history. Projection mapping technology is used to explore three centuries of gin production in Edinburgh, from the gin craze of the 1700s right through to the distillation methods of today. Tickets include a welcome drink, a gin tasting session and a signature serve to enjoy during the performance.

To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Edinburgh Festivals, the gin distillers have also opened pop up bars in eight locations across town. G&T's, Gin Fizzes and other Edinburgh icon inspired cocktails are served, including the 'Edwyn Collins', 'James Martin Martini' and the 'New Town Treasure'. For every drink purchased, you get a stamp in your 'Spirit of the Festival Passport', which, when completed gets you a complimentary cocktail.
