Eat Mhor offers diners a six course tasting menu in lavish surroundings for two nights of the festival
Run by Assembly, the food festival is now in its third year and invites food producers from all over the country to park up in George Square in the week leading up to the Fringe. Last year over 25,000 visitors passed through the food hub to try the broad range of dishes on offer and sit in on talks, tastings and demonstrations from the likes of Shirley Spear, Guy Grieve and Neil Forbes.
After hosting a Ready Steady Chef competition alongside Guy Grieve in 2016, Lewis is back in the Speigeltent Palais Du Variete to dish up an exclusive six course tasting experience. The full menu is yet to be revealed, but considering Monachyle Mhor are known for their outstanding use of local produce (sourcing pretty much all vegetables, beef, pork, lamb and venison from their backyard and surrounding countryside), we're expecting creativity with every course.
'The effortless style and unbeatable quality of what Chef Tom Lewis and family produce is the perfect pairing for Edinburgh Food Festival,' says Sharon Burgess, Managing Director of Assembly Festival and Edinburgh Food Festival. 'We are thrilled to bring them to the capital for the hottest ticket this side of the festival'.
Lewis kicks off his summer food adventures with MHOR Festival, taking place on 26–28 May at his hideaway on the banks of Loch Voil. Expect baking competitions, theatre, live music, children's activities and more.
Eat Mhor is held on 28 & 29 Jul, 7–9pm as part of the Edinburgh Food Festival. Full programme announced mid-June, limited tickets on sale Fri 26 May.
