The List and edfest.tv unite to provide Edinburgh Festivals video content
Over 200 clips from the award-winning edfest.tv will be available at www.list.co.uk alongside related articles and content from The List.
This article is from 2008.
edfest.tv began their innovative coverage in 2007, rooting out the highlights, lowlights and best sights from all the Edinburgh Festivals, and its success was acknowledged when it was voted the UK's Best Web TV Channel at the prestigious IVCA Awards in London. The arrival of the festival season in 2008 will trigger the production of scores of new, entertaining and informative videos. This video content complements The List’s 23-year history of committed Edinburgh Festivals coverage, which this year includes a Festival Preview publication and four weekly issues of The List throughout the Festival period.
Preview material demonstrating the way in which video will be integrated into the List’s content will be launched in mid-June. The List has a regular monthly online audience of over 350,000 unique users, a figure which is guaranteed to significantly increase during the Festivals.
Jack Garrow, Creative Director of edfest.tv commented: “The success of our Festival activities in 2007 has led us to expand our plans for 2008. One of our key goals was to reach a larger audience and The List, with their significant arts audience, were a natural partner. We very quickly agreed on how to work together to deliver a really superb new service to users which will combine our video with The List’s extensive Festival coverage.”
Simon Dessain, Digital Director at The List said: “We were keen to increase the richness of our Festivals content and edfest.tv are clear leaders in televised coverage of Festival events and performers, and of the arts community as a whole. This further extends The List’s Festival-related activities which we know our audience wants. With users spending a longer time on individual pages due to the nature of video content and the Festival attracting an affluent, intelligent audience, we believe this represents an excellent sponsorship and advertising opportunity.”
