Top theatre group pulls out of this year's Fringe

Theatre group Aurora Nova, who have specialised in visual theatre and dance performances at the Edinburgh Fringe since 2001, will not be taking part this year.

The company, who are based at Stockbridge's St Stephen's Church, have said a shortage of funds were behind the 'extremely difficult' decision. They hope, however, to return to the Fringe in 2009.

A spokesperson for the Fringe itself said that no decision had yet been taken on whether the venue might still be used outwith the Aurora Nova banner this year.
