Scotrail announce expanded Edinburgh Festival 2012 train timetable

New late-night train services to and from Edinburgh will make it easier for those outside the city to visit the 2012 festival.

In Glasgow, there will be a new Fringe box office at Queen Street station from July 27. Tickets bought online in advance can be picked up from the box office prior to travel.

The additional late night train services from Edinburgh to Glasgow depart from Waverley at 00.01 and 00.30 every day from Fri 4 to Sun 26 Aug and call at Linlithgow, Polmont, Falkirk High, Croy, Lenzie and Bishopbriggs. These services previously only ran at weekends.

There is also an additional Edinburgh to Garscadden service departing 00.06 on Saturday and Sunday mornings calling at all stations via Bathgate & Airdrie, except High St, Charing Cross and Partick.

There will be an additional 23.52 Dundee train on Fri 3, 10, 17 & 24 Aug, calling at most stations.

There will be an additional 23.19 Perth service each week day from Mon 3 – Fri 24 Aug

A 23.50 North Berwick train will run on Fridays from Fri 3 to Fri 24 Aug and at 23.52 on Saturdays from Sat Aug 4 to Sat 25.

There will also be additional services after the Virgin Money Fireworks on 2 Sep, time tbc.

Many trains will have extra carriages.
