Supporting his treatise that comedy should enjoy an unlimited target range, Birdman takes aim at everyone in general and no one in particular. His father, daughter, and religion all structure his musings, but he rails gaily en route, exhibiting easy confidence with an engaging manner. Though there was an impending sense of script, he shines brightest when shooting from the hip.
