Ella, Meet Marilyn

A thoroughly delightful and entertaining piece of theatre which manages to convey the essence of both Ella Fitzgerald and Marilyn Monroe as well as their significant friendship. Effortlessly yet appropriately punctuated by songs belted out by Rain Pryor and breathlessly warbled by Sally Lindsay, Bonnie Greer’s captivating script recounts a great change in American history from a rarely witnessed viewpoint. She also manages to satiate our appetite about our heroes while giving both icons equal standing.

Pleasance Dome, until 28 Aug, 7.20pm.
