A poignant drama with a lightness of touch, Baggage tackles the effect of mental illness on a father-son relationship in a series of vignettes. Although the play does progress somewhat, the narrative feels confined by its disconnected structure, almost reflecting the disease itself. Tenderly acted by Stephen Sobal and Adam Burton, this is a well-written and affectionate portrayal of life blighted by mental illness.
