Clinically Famous

  • 17 August 2006

This article is from 2006.

In a society where being famous has become big business, Clinically Famous comically tackles the high price one star has to pay for being such a well-known commodity. Stalwart soap star Beverly is admitted into the Priory after her on-screen persona affects her real life when she goes from the nation's sweetheart to bitch-drunk from hell. Although Natalie Haverstock gives a satisfactory performance of Caroline Gold’s semi auto-biographical play, the relentless deconstruction of the soap teeters into a tutorial of soaps, thus preventing us from fully engaging with our character.
