Lick and Chew: The world is just enough

This article is from 2006.

Fitchew and Pilkington offer us an exploration of travel and holidays in this fast paced, if rather camp performance. Fitchew and Pilkington’s work will not be to everyone’s taste: it is rather crude (songs include ‘Suck a rich man’s cock’) but the outcome is undeniably hilarious. The playfulness of the two characters, who are ready to slip away from their rehearsed material for extra comedy, seem fully able to bring the audience into their camp, satirical world. My main complaint would be that the comedy is a times repetitive, with some characters relying solely on catchphrases for laughs, which may work within a television episode, but becomes rather trying within an hour-long sketch show. But the whole this was a very enjoyable piece. (Russell Clark)
