Brendan Dempsey (2 stars)

  • 14 August 2006

This article is from 2006.

While Irish comedian Dempsey keeps his audience engaged with a well-researched treatise on the foibles of England, his show would work better as a lecture than stand-up. He touches on its relationship with the rest of the British Isles, football and national paranoia, but his delivery doesn’t allow the audience much interaction. (David Pollock)

The Stand, 558 7272, until 28 Aug, 1.45pm, £7 (£6).
