While Irish comedian Dempsey keeps his audience engaged with a well-researched treatise on the foibles of England, his show would work better as a lecture than stand-up. He touches on its relationship with the rest of the British Isles, football and national paranoia, but his delivery doesn’t allow the audience much interaction. (David Pollock)
