What Hughes lacks in stagecraft and polish he certainly makes up for with heartfelt Hicksian fury at the uncountable hypocrisies of 21st century democratic imperialism. If anti-establishment sentiment is to the Edinburgh Fringe as coals are to Newcastle, this fuming Aussie still touches fresh nerves. (Sam Healy)
