Chris Durkin - Easily Distracted
- 11 August 2006
This article is from 2006.
There were no bad jokes in this performance, but no really funny ones either. It is difficult to assess a stand-up with only a handful of people there, but Chris Durkin comes across as a nice kind of guy (which is the problem). He has no edge so there is not that sense of danger that you need to be a good stand-up. Most of his observations are good, but like many of the comedians here, they're not that funny. Perhaps he could work on using a central gag/theme and building his set around it, as at times he appeared to loose his way. His interaction with the audience that turned up was good, but I'm afraid he is only so-so funny. (Michael Plant)
