Frustrated at the stereotypes promoted in the world’s media, WMD Theatre’s mission is to ‘Unravel the turban of ignorance’ surrounding the perception of Islam and its 1.2 million followers in Britain. And they do a fine job.
While some of their methods lack refinement their simply staged production acts as a battering ram against the xenophobic preconceptions prevalent in our country.
At times it feels a bit like My First Koran; that they are aiming for the lowest common denominator in their audience, but their drive for truth is to be commended. It works as a Theatre in Education production, and I suspect schools across the country would jump at the chance to welcome the White Middle Class Degenerates into their assembly rooms.
