Jesus didn’t know he was the Son of God until his 30th birthday. Jim Jeffries still has two months to go but he’s still optimistic. While the title for his show, The Second Coming, is a reference to his first Fringe outing, Porn Idol, the poster of the Aussie comic, clad in angel wings, has invoked the Christian right’s wrath. Clearly, Jeffries doesn’t care about offending the thin-skinned with his brutally honest observations.
He has us on the edge of our seats as he recounts the night he was robbed at knifepoint in his own home. He’s just been dumped, so women, at present are just like toilets: ‘all of them are dirty apart from the disabled ones.’ He can’t remember what date the planes hit the Twin Towers, but ‘the Americans don’t half go on about it.’ Maybe it’s a measure of the audience on this particular night, but Jeffries managed to offend no one.
