Two mismatched female flatmates exist in a nowhere land of a living room: one, who is in make-up and dressed in a pink evening gown, can't go out of the door; the other, in comfortable, nondescript clothes, goes away for days at a time but always returns home to share the booze, the inconsequential chat, the games and the absurd pastimes. Their favourite game is trying to kill themselves, which involves playing poker with alcohol instead of cards, raising their alcohol levels till they lose the power of their legs. The co-dependency breaks and one feels for the one left behind and wonders how they got together in the first place. An enigmatic piece. (Eliza Langland)
