The analogy between single-issue politicians and comics who rely on a single notable attribute to propel them beyond the point they might reach relying only on their middling talents is compelling: each promises much and delivers little, and neither tends to win. Cooper’s entire act deals, in varying degrees, with the fact that she is a transsexual, which is interesting but (crucially) not inherently funny. (Sam Healy)
