Alfred Williams Tells a Joke (3 stars)

  • 8 August 2006

This article is from 2006.

The meandering, digressive, pun-heavy yarn has been perfected down the years. For this show, think Ronnie Corbett meets Tim Vine minus the producer or the sweat. Getting into his stride straight away, Williams does tell a joke and though you may forget the content (a gothic farce about a guy being chased by a gorilla, I think) the warmth of delivery and frequently hilarious wordplay makes this a captivating experience.
