David Leddy's Reekie
This article is from 2006.
Wandering through the meadows, crumpled map in hand, it’s difficult to see the intention behind Leddy’s work. It begins with some significance, people talking of their feelings towards a continuously expanding and increasingly expensive Festival. But it then digresses into tangents that bear no relevance to either the places we see along the way, or the Festival itself.
What it does serve as, however, is an opportunity to see a part of Edinburgh that the average festivalgoer may not experience, but ultimately in doing so, there are too many distractions that detract from what is already a disengaging dialogue. (Eddie Thornton)
