Full of confidence, presumably from his years at the coalface of stockbroking, Larkin’s story of being a Cuddly Loser has the feel of being hurriedly chucked-together and in dire need of narrative moulding. Still, for a fiver, you’ll get to hear one of the cleverest, if ickiest, moments of wordplay at the Fringe.

Damion Larkin: Cuddly Loser

  • 3 stars

He gave up a successful career in stockbroking to talk to strangers. One day he's on Radio 4, Radio 5, 'Working Lunch' and Bloomberg TV. The next he's sitting in his underpants wondering how to be a comedian. Upbeat tales of incompetence, loneliness, failure and a huge lust for life, chocolate and girls beyond his reach.
