Short of comedy
Short Circuit Comedy presents four debut comics providing free comedy. The choice made by placing no price was on this occasion an approximation of the value.
The rule may be hard, but the rule it is - that the show goes on even when the audience is small - even very small. This is even harder for comics perhaps but Antony Green, Lex Peters and Ben Wadling have the rule to learn still.
Young Paul Longley, at 20, is a faster learner and gave the audience his best. He turned his puppy face to good advantage and with the single grey hair he found he created a whole sketch around being a pubescent grey fox. The audience might have been into the hundreds. This debut performer has a ready turn of wit, a natural comedians manner, avoided sex as his lead topic and had a willingness to enter the role.
I say come again to Short Circuit because that underpins the Fringe ethos, but please remember the rule.
