Jarlath Regan, Man of Very Little Mystery

The amiable Irishman returns for his third year in Edinburgh after emerging from the dogfight of 2007's So You Think You're Funny. Cracking into proceedings with an immediately engaging hands-on approach to audience participation, Regan obviously enjoys being back in the warm Fringe confines after revealing a recent dip in confidence and seems very comfortable in this late afternoon slot in front of a sell-out crowd. Charming his way through the dangers of fake-tan application and dreams of becoming Santa Claus, Regan's ever-cheerful delivery and friendly style leave the audience with a content afterglow, ready to emerge into a sunny Edinburgh evening. An enjoyable hour in the Billiard Room of Regan's mind.

Gilded Balloon Teviot, until 31 Aug, 4pm, £7.50-£9.50.
