Becoming Marilyn

It’s a neat concept presenting Norma Jean and her screen idol alter ego Marilyn Monroe as a showbiz Jekyll and Hyde, and having the dead blonde bombshell narrate her/their story to that effect. And Issy Van Randwyck does a very presentable impersonation of both women. Unfortunately, this is a by-the-numbers show – chat, song, chat, song, repeat – that fails to ignite.

Assembly Rooms, 623 3030, until 31 Aug (not 17), 3.10pm, £12 (£10).
