This article is from 2009.
The List can happily announce that, despite fears, the half-price hut shall be returning for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2009.
Opening at 10am on Tuesday 11th August, the hut shall be offering discount prices for a variety of shows in its new home on The Mound, situated between the two buildings of the National Gallery complex.
The ongoing tram works near Princes Street mall had raised doubts over whether the hut would make an appearance this year, but its return shall be a welcome attraction for festival-goers keen to see a quality show without burning a hole in their wallet.
Expect acts from all across the Fringe bill to be offering up a limited amount of cheap tickets for shows on the day of purchase. with theatre, comedy, dance and kids shows all included.
A list of acts offering discounted tickets for performances taking place on the day of purchase, will be displayed at the hut itself, and Edinburgh Festivals have also released an iPhone app which will include regular updates on which tickets are available.
