Second broadcast of the variety show, hosted by Jayde Adams, to also star likes of Reuben Kaye and Alfie Ordinary
After an incredibly successful debut last week, AJ Bell Fringe on Friday returns this Fri Aug 14 at 9pm with a line-up featuring Abandoman, Fern Brady, Reuben Kaye, Travis Jay, Alfie Ordinary, Craig Hill, Alice Rabbit, Sadia Azmat, Rachel Fairburn and Laurie Black.
Hosted by the inimitable Jayde Adams, the hour-long cabaret is a key feature of the FringeMakers campaign, a fundraising initiative developed in partnership between the Fringe Society and Crowdfunder. With artists and venues taking part in FringeMakers keeping all proceeds from ticket sales, the campaign aims to help sustain them through these difficult summer months following the cancellation of a physical Fringe.
Access to the live stream costs £9, and viewers will be able to view the broadcast at their leisure until Mon 17 Aug. AJ Bell Fringe on Friday will run every Friday throughout the month of August, with Nigel Ng and Courtney Act announced as hosts for the subsequent editions. The line-up for each week will be announced every Wednesday before the broadcast.
This week's featured stars are drawn from various worlds of talent, from Abandoman's Irish hip-hop comedy stylings and Fern Brady's caustic wit (her 2019 Fringe show, Power and Chaos, won her accolades across the board) to sensationalist cabaret star Reuben Kaye and drag prince Alfie Ordinary. With such high-octane jokes, drama and sequins on the menu, AJ Bell Fringe on Friday's second outing is not one to be missed.
Speaking ahead of her role as MC, Jayde Adams says, 'I'm delighted to be hosting the second AJ Bell Fringe on Friday show. I've experienced how valuable the Fringe can be for an artist's career, from my Best Newcomer nomination back in 2016, to releasing last year's show as a comedy special and I'm excited to bring some of that Fringe energy we'll all be missing so much this summer.
'This is a great way to keep supporting the wonderful artists and venues that come together each August, so get behind your favourites on FringeMakers and enjoy the show.'
