With a nagging wife, annoying kids, massive mortgage payments and need for a new kitchen, Tonkinson had his reasons for feeling an impending mid-life crisis. After kicking his coke habit and turning to the church, he tries to enjoy the messiness of everyday life. But his warmly-delivered gags are too focussed on domestic dreariness to get big laughs.
