Fine meta fare from Lola, Jo, Leslie and Jackie

As we troop in, double act Lola and Jo are handing out name stickers for each audience member. Or are they? Once the lights have been dimmed, the pair who begin to discuss how the next hour will proceed have regionally-indeterminate Scottish accents and are calling themselves Jackie and Leslie. Insisting that they're not fans of comedy (especially if it involves women), these 'marketing facilitators' are here to find out whether a new product is likely to make any kind of dent in the market: that of the sketch work from Lola and Jo.

Sharing The Pin's concept of playing two sets of pairs, Lola (Stephenson) and Jo (Griffin) don't quite have the luxury of stage-space that those boys have, and so need to stretch our suspension of disbelief a little further with a lot less. The meta element which drives the show is standard Lola and Jo fare and the laughs are plentiful as they provide an energetic contrast to their glum alter egos.

Underbelly Cowgate, until 26 Aug, 4pm, £9–£10 (£8–£9).
