Bex and Dan need the audience's interactive help to save their radio show
There is a hint of desperation to any show which needs to have fun in its title - as if it was there to remind itself what it's about. Not that Bex Lindsay needs such a reminder as she gets in amongst the audience before this starts, chatting away and making friends.
But when Dan Simpson arrives with his puns and pretend not-readiness for the show, it looks as if things might just get a little predictable. Fortunately, the scripted hump is soon past and the pair can get on with what they do best, creating a live radio show.
Except that everything is going wrong, the big bad boss of Fun Kids Radio wants to sack them and the only thing that can save the day is if the audience helps them out with each section.
It's a setup that's eminently suited to the pair's strengths and with the familiar sections - news, story, competition, a star interview and finale sing-along - the audience interaction (for both kids and parents) on which its success depends is easily achieved.
The scripted sections are less successful and won't chime with every audience, but there is more than enough there for an entertaining family show.
Underbelly Med Quad, until 27 Aug, 1.15pm
