Assembly, Gilded Balloon, Pleasance and Underbelly celebrate 11 years of partnership with another world-class programme
EdFest.com today launches its Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2018 programme to coincide with the 11th year of collaboration between 'the big four'. The initiative is a partnership between Assembly, Gilded Balloon, Pleasance and Underbelly – all integral venues at the Festival.
Every year the group expands and in 2018 they will collectively bring 827 shows from 29 countries to 91 spaces across 20 venues in Edinburgh – proving that the initiative is at the heart of the world's biggest international arts festival.
On the programme, there is a varied mix of new groundbreaking talent, homegrown acts and big names from comedy, cabaret, circus, music, theatre and spoken word. Highlights from the newly announced programme include Max & Ivan's Prom Night, from award-winning creators of The Wrestling. Over at Gilded Balloon, Luisa Omielan brings Politics for Bitches from her BBC Three series of the same name, and Pleasance has announced Cirque Berserk! to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the invention of the circus. Stand-up and Absolutely Fabulous star Helen Lederer will also be taking up a spot at Underbelly with her honest stand-up routine titled I Might Just As Well Say It.
As is the case every year, the performances on the EdFest.com programme are sure to clinch many Festival Fringe awards and good reviews – so the programme is an important document for festival goers and fans.
