Located on Dundas Street since 1993, the Scottish Gallery has a long history covering various premises in the New Town. It specialises in contemporary and 20th century Scottish painting by artists such as Penelope Beaton, Earl Haig, William Baillie and Philip Braham, and international contemporary objects such as ceramics, glass, silver and metalwork, and textiles, by artists including Peter Chang, Dorothy Hogg and Hideo Furuta. The gallery also deals in etchings, lithographs and screenprints from painters who have also established themselves in printmaking, such as Barbara Rae, John Houston and John Byrne.

Elizabeth Blackadder: Works on Paper

Displaying new works on paper, this is the first exhibition of Dame Elizabeth Blackadder’s work since the retrospective at The National Galleries of Scotland in 2010, and includes delicate studies of leaves, fruit and other organic objects.

What a fantastic gallery. Well worth the visit. Consistently good exhibitions from a great range of artists from 20th century to well chosen more contemporary ones. They often have affordable items, such as gorgeous and very wearable jewellery. Would certainly highly recommend.
