Craig Coulthard: Picnic at Forest Pitch

This listing is from a previous year.  Search for current listings.

Artist Craig Coulthard has created a full-size football pitch in the middle of a commercial forest, using the felled trees to make goalposts and a shelter, with the pitch itself made from recycled topsoil from a local football ground. In September, the pitch will be reseeded with native trees and the forest will grow back naturally. On this trip, you can take an excursion to the pitch and have a picnic, during which there's a chance to engage with the artist and other invited speakers (if you want to have an actual picnic, you'll need to bring your own food and drink). The bus leaves from outside City Art Centre at 11am. Part of Edinburgh Art Festival.
