Celebrating the world-wide appeal of jazz, a unique jazz big band comes together, under the direction of Scotland’s most celebrated jazz musician, Joe Temperley, to play a Duke Ellington programme that features some of his rarest and greatest work, and, of course, some of his greatest hits. They’ll play music from 'Black, Brown and Beige', ‘The Latin American Suite', 'The Far East Suite' and 'The Queen’s Suite', to 'Mood Indigo', 'Take The A Train' and 'Caravan'. The wonderful young singer, Cecile Salvant, joins the band to sing some of those great tunes.
