Sex, Drugs and Rheumatism - Free

This listing is from a previous year.  Search for current listings.

Gary Stark, prize winning poet, will be making his debut at the Fringe with his new show Sex, Drugs and Rheumatism as part of the Laughing Horse Free Fringe. Using rap, ballads, limericks and song, his show is an hilarious examination of growing old, trying to maintain a sex life as booze, pills and rheumatism take over. If you imagine Pam Ayres as a dirty old man then you get the idea.

Gary, at 62 one of this year’s oldest debutantes, is best known for the YouTube hit, 'Gary Stark Masturbation', (which isn’t as bad as it sounds), but is a brilliant animation of his song Masturbation and really is a must see, both on the web and his live performance.

Gary has twice been a winner of the Raw Meat prize at the top London poetry club Bang Said the Gun, a valuable (£1) trophy with a gun attached, which he has had enormous and comical trouble getting through customs on his journey back to his home in France.

Gary is the only Pawnbroking, Disc-Jockeying, Bookmaking Poet performing at this year’s festival and this show is guaranteed to make you smile.
