Rubies in the Attic

The Ruby Dolls make uplifting theatre, inspired by the intimacy and variety of cabaret, bringing stories to life through close harmony song.

1898 – An Italian boards a boat for America as a Russian Jew mistakes Cable Street for Cape Town.

1928 – Isabel waits for a soldier on a horse.

1938 – Pat spies a bald man at the bar.

Rubies in the Attic is an original piece of theatre exploring how the past has shaped us all, through the family histories of four women.

Intertwining Coward with Klezmer and Tango with African folk, the Dolls cross decades and continents. Using puppetry, dance, physical theatre and comedy, join them as they uncover their origins and sing their way home.
