Compassionate and moving, Revival! explores in words and music the tensions between art and religion in Scotland through the story of Duncan Campbell, Mairi Campbell's grandfather, a powerful Highland preacher who was a leader of the Lewis Revival. The story follows his progress from his youth in Argyll through two world wars to the post-war religious upheaval on Lewis, and the implications of a creed with a problematic relationship with creative expression. Revival! is a new companion piece to Campbell and Francis's previous Fringe success The Red Earth. All ages.
