Hilarious new opera based on the infamous episode of ITV's South Bank Show, first televised in 1985. Melvyn Bragg interviews the controversial painter Francis Bacon about his working processes, but as the alcohol flows the conversation veers headlong into a frank and inflammatory discussion on everything from sex and death, to art and addiction. A chamber piece for two singers and piano. 'Imagine a boozy, artistic Frost/Nixon. The music has bite, verve and absurdity' (Muso Magazine). 'A major discovery. Compelling and extraordinary' (Musical Pointers). Ages 12+.
