Wolf Vostell

This listing is from a previous year.  Search for current listings.

German artist Wolf Vostell (1932-1998) became famous in the 1960s by means of his use of décollage, a technique described as the opposite of collage, in which he ripped billboard posters to expose the posters beneath. He thrived in the turbulent 60s art world, organising Happenings, getting involved in Fluxus and making pioneering installations and works of video art. This exhibition reviews his whole career with special emphasis on his anti-war and anti-imperalism ethos. Part of Edinburgh Art Festival.
