Bluebeard: A Fairy Tale for Adults

Jump to reviews or comments

Pedal-powered riotous theatre. Marriage, temptation and punishment collide with playfully anarchic storytelling to mischievously unravel the gender inequality in stories we all tell. Having fallen in love with a fairy-tale womaniser, young working girl Pam finds herself in an unfamiliar domestic life and it is not long before temptation turns to tragedy. Homespun contraptions whirr to the backdrop of handmade animation whilst live cabaret music fills the intimate space. Licking the edges of unsavoury narrative, this is a sensory assault for those tempted by the forbidden. ‘Quirky and witty’ (FringeReview.co.uk).
