Neil Dougan - Rough Rared
'Rough rared', a Belfast expression meaning brought up in an ungentle, although not uncaring fashion. 'Rared' used in the Ulster Scots dialect for the English reared.
An autobiographical account of growing up in council estate Belfast and staying there. Observations on life, comparing his own parenting skills and marriage to his parents. His children's experiences to his childhood. Dysfunctional friends/relatives and unique Northern Irish social occasions. Looking up from the hectic and chaotic struggles of family life to observe local and global issues. Commenting on religion, politics, sport and other subjects from a personal perspective.
Neil has been headlining comedy clubs all over the UK and Ireland for over ten years now. As well as his work on TV and radio where his mix of incisive political satire and acute comical observations on everyday life are much sought after.
Text supplied by festival and/or promoter.
We don't have details of any future performances, if you know of some please let us know.
