A WW1 soldier back from the front line faces his hardest battle yet. Almost 100 years later a British soldier returns home from Afghanistan. How much has changed regarding the help veterans receive upon returning to their friends, loved ones and life on 'Civvy Street'? This production looks at the challenges faced when trying to overcome the psychological fall out from active service. The parallel experiences of two veterans are imaginatively explored in this powerful and moving production. Research for Paper Tom has been carried out with Talking2Minds, a leading charity for the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder.

From the trenches of the First World War to the conflict in Afghanistan, Paper Tom (which moves back-and-forth between the two) asks how far British society has come in its treatment of soldiers when they return home scarred psychologically by battle.
