Bob and Jim - Go

After indulging in some Modern Urges last time around, now the truly big and daft Bob and Jim are imploring us to Go. No doubt deliberately, this is a title which admittedly could be read in a couple of contrasting ways. These classically cockney gents (who break out from their Lambeth Walk ways to become more meta-analytical middle-class pseuds) are being hassled by a pair of curious lookalikes called Barry and Martin. We are warned that this dastardly duo will attempt to gatecrash proceedings at some point and, sure enough, some engineered tension arises when one of our heroes departs the room to be replaced by a sinister doppelganger.

Still, none of that occurs before B&J have indulged in some silly party games, tried to avoid smashing into invisible Ming vases and torn the utter hypocrisy of Jessie J’s ‘Price Tag’ to ribbons. Their audience mingling is non-threatening and almost apologetic in the extreme and while this is an hour that might be shy on massive belly laughs, the pair’s charming buffoonery is impossible to resist.
