Throughout Discover Ben Target the gathered punters are taken on numerous bizarre and wonderful journeys. The first, a figurative express trip from “This is unusual” to “Why-in-shitting-hell-are-we-not-sitting-at-the-back?” to the last, a casual stroll down the Cowgate in search of a stick. Oh, and then there's the forty-a-side game of volleyball.
Discover Ben Target is a succession of interweaving skits, each linked together by the theme of peculiarity. Whilst a handful of unfortunate audience members do become bait for the bearded comic there is no greater humiliation than that which he bestows upon himself. Humiliation though, is a key and ever present topic throughout the show.
The style employed by Ben Target means that there is unlikely to be any two shows the same and in utilising a great many props and accomplices Discover Ben Target is not only a hilarious and expertly executed routine but also a deceptively complex production, hidden beneath a mask of chaos.
