Silly Billy Bum Breath Strikes Back
Jailhouse comedy
This article is from 2007.
The bad girls of last year’s Fringe are back, and this time they’re even naughtier. As all those who saw Laura Black and Feri Tezcan’s 2006 show, Silly Billy Bum Breath will know, the eponymous hero is in fact invisible – well, to us anyway. Only Black and Tezcan can see the pesky Bum Breath, and he spurs them on to do one naughty act after another.
This talented comedy duo have been compared to French & Saunders, and in previous years that’s certainly held true. This year, however, Black and Tezcan have swapped the witty one-liners and intelligent comedy for a more slapstick approach. Whoopee cushions, custard pies and squirting water abounds, which keeps the kids giggling, even if it doesn’t always hit the spot with adults. (Kelly Apter)
