The photographer captures new authors every day

Chris Close seems to have established himself as the portrait photographer of choice for the Edinburgh International Book Festival. The authors visiting the festival to present their work and thoughts have been captured in a series of pictures by Close to be displayed throughout.

In a manner similar to last year, new photos will be displayed each day as Close gets a chance to photograph the attendees and prepare the portraits for display. The portraits are displayed outside of the tents - rain or shine - and absolutely free to the public.

This year's models so far include His Dark Materials author Philip Pullman, poet and writer Fatima Bhutto, actor Simon Callow, and author and playwright Fay Weldon.

The Edinburgh International Book Festival takes place at Charlotte Square from Sat 14–Mon 30 Aug. For more information on Chris Close, including the purchasing of prints - including all of those seen here - visit www.chrisclose.com
