The talk-show host is either a humble servant of the people or an egomaniac who turns every interview into a one-sided discussion about themselves. Ronna and Beverly are a different kind of sofa beast altogether. As they descend upon the celebs of Edinburgh, here they recall their most embarrassing moments in chat

1: After situating herself firmly on his lap, Beverly pronounced to the audience that Mad Men’s Don Draper (Jon Hamm) smells like ‘scotch and testicles’.

2: Bombing at the International Jewish Men’s Softball tournament banquet in St. Louis. They wanted strippers. They got their mothers-in-law.

3: Beverly grilling Friends star Matthew Perry about his involvement in the September 11th attacks, then admitting she missed the whole event because she took too many sleeping pills.

4: Jeff Garlin from Curb Your Enthusiasm refusing to continue his interview until Ronna marched up and down the stage in her leather pants so he could get a ‘better view’.

5: Beverly suggesting to The IT Crowd’s Chris O’Dowd that the only way he’ll make it in Hollywood is playing priests or leprechauns.
