Richard Wright at Edinburgh Art Festival

Richard Wright has always been a man to think outside the box. A Turner prize-winner, commended for ‘rejecting the canvas’, he’s done just that with his latest masterpiece. Commissioned by the Edinburgh Art Festival, Wright’s latest creation has been unveiled in the west stairwell of the Dean Orphan Hospital, now the Dean Gallery. Black and white in design – and created over an intensive four week period – the piece compliments Thomas Hamilton’s early 1830s neo-classical design of the original Dean Orphan Hospital.

Dean Gallery, Edinburgh; The 2010 Edinburgh Art Festival will run from 29 Jul–5 Sep.
