Like the subject of one of his poems, Harvey’s show is low key. There’s a quirky charm in love poems to homely subjects such as Ibuprofen, tea bags and the potato while the Radio 4 contributor’s proposals for a harmonious society include ‘uncertainty benefit’ for people who live in the subjunctive, and a superhero called Empath Man.

Matt Harvey - Wondermentalist

  • 3 stars

BBC Radio 4 Saturday Live's Matt Harvey, enemy of all that's difficult and upsetting, offers a fundamentally wonder-filled hour of poetry and comedy, plus superhero Empath Man. 'Very funny' (Independent). 'Not only funny, but tender and true' (Guardian).
