Devil's Ship
This article is from 2008.
Renowned Iranian actor-director Attila Pesyani, founder of the Bazi Theatre Company, brings his haunting new play to the EIF for its European premier following a successful run at Tehran’s Fadjir International Theatre Festival. Performed in Farsi with subtitles, the piece revolves around the motif of the crescent moon, prevalent in Muslim culture, which is known as the Devil’s Ship when it appears as a curve at the bottom of the moon. The plot focuses on five women, alone on an abandoned island, whose peace is destroyed when a strange ship appears on the horizon.
